August is a pretty full and fruitful (yes, I’m claiming it to be one) month for me. First, 5 people who are close to me are celebrating their birthdays. My Lola, my father-in-law, my dearest Mommy, my highschool and forever friend Tatet and lastly, Ate Myrna.

Saying that, I wish I could kiss my Mum on her birthday or hug her but America is too far (and not to mention US VISA is a big hindrance). On a brighter note, I am happy that my Mum is healthy and is in a happy disposition amidst the added year in her life ๐Ÿ˜‰

Second, August 16 is Chinese Valentine’s Day! (It’s like being my birthday again but on a different date)

Third, August 24 is Hungry Ghost Festival for the Chinese (okay, so I like Chinese festivities) this is actually like our All Soul’s Day only that the Chinese celebrate theirs in a more extravagant way.

Fourth, August is the longest month for me. It has 5 Mondays! But thinking like a businesswoman, I am thankful that these Mondays are opportunities to have more sales ๐Ÿ™‚

Fifth, I am facing a new chapter, a new challenge on my work life and I am actually happy and hopeful about it. I just wish the Universe will align with my thoughts and visions that it will actually come to life ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lastly, the following are declared holidays for August 2010:

Aug. 23,   Monday
Special Non-Working Holiday (Nationwide)
RA No. 9256 โ€“In commemoration of the Death of Senator Benigno Aquino, Jr

Aug. 30,   Monday
Regular Holiday (Nationwide)
Executive Order No. 203: National Heroes Day (moved to nearest Monday as per RA No. 9492)

and for Quezon City based employees:
Aug. 19,   Thursday
Special Non-Working Holiday
RA No. 6741 โ€“Quezon City Day: In commemoration of the birth of former President Manuel L. Quezon

How about you, what will your August be?
