Our baby Luzy has hypersensitive skin. Doc Mitch, our pedia-friend, said she has atopic dermatitis. This was predominantly caused by me having skin asthma (Peaches had this too until she was about 5 years old) and Troy having bronchial asthma.
I first noticed Luzy’s reddish skin rashes when she was about 2 months and was getting worst by the day. We tried changing her milk, we changed her body wash from Johnson & Johnson’s to Lactacyd to Human Heart Nature and then to Cetaphil (normal variant) Β all didn’t help tame her rashes.
When the weather is too humid, her rashes flare up and she’ll be very uncomfortable hence she’ll throw fits that I’m sure the entire floor area heard (sorry, neighbors!).
Doc Mitch prescribed the following to her:
Cetaphil Restoraderm Body wash (formulated for eczema)
Cetaphil Restoraderm Body Lotion
and if she gets too uncomfortable we give her oral medicine too and topical cream.
A week after using both Cetaphil variants, Luzy’s skin cleared. The rashes comes once in a while but in most days, she’s rash-free. Super thankful that Cetaphil Restoraderm was able to tame her rashes. I love that it does not leave a sticky residue on my baby’s skin.
The downside of using it is that IT CAN SMELL BAD. The soap itself smells bad or maybe we’re used to using scented soaps? Anyway, it doesn’t smell bad on the baby’s skin when applied or used.
Cetaphil Restoraderm Body wash is around P830 while the Cetaphil Restoraderm lotion is around P1200 (biggest sizes). We bought them at Mercury Drug Store, S&R or Shopwise.
Both are Mom approved!
I think this product is really great even if it smells bad. Price is a bit expensive but if it’s the only one that solves the problem then it’s already worth it.
I’ve always loved that brand, Cetaphil. π I use it for my face, too. My not-so-baby girl, still uses it, too. π
Yes it’s so nice!
Thank you for sharing this. I have a one-year old nephew and sometimes I can also notice some skin rashes. Will recommend this to his mom π
So glad to read this, the lotion looks great. i wish i had a baby.Maybe my friends baby should make use of this lotion.
I didn’t know they had a product formulated for eczema – that is interesting.
Thanks for sharing dear; this is really helpful π Will share this with my sister soon so she can give it a go on my baby nephew.
Hi Shivani,
Yes do try it!
