Our president is known for moving holidays to a day before or after the weekend for
A longer vacation.
I wouldn’t care less.
But then this specific holiday, made me realize what the impact will be to
The younger generations. They would all be confused on the actual dates.
I wouldn’t blame elementary pupils who answer June 9 as our Independence Day
On test questions.
All that for a longer vacation.
I think it’s wrong to move the dates.
Especially when the holiday symbolizes something we, as one nation, should celebrate.
(or should be proud of)
We should at least respect the people who gave our land freedom.
Freedom that we all enjoy today.
Freedom that we (one way or another) abuse.
Freedom that most of us do not deserve.
