>Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) announced last night their newest offering which they called the PLDT TELPAD.

PLDT TELPAD is conceptualized by the brilliant minds of the PLDT teams headed by Mr. Patrick Tang, VP-Retail Voice Acquisition and Mr. Paolo Lopez, AVP-VAS Retention and Usage, who came up with an innovation that features a bundled landline telephone and myDSL internet service which is highlighted by a web-friendly 7″ touch screen tablet.

Reactions from the users

Marcel Arellano and company

Mr. Marcel Arellano, Stock broker, Sales Trader of Asia Pacific Equities stated during my interview with him that he applauds PLDT for a breakthrough in communication and that PLDT steps up on its competitors by being the first to launch Telpad. Mr. Arellano thinks that Telpad will affect the demand of Ipad since Filipinos will be able to avail of the same technology at a more affordable price. According to him, the idea and concept is perfect and PLDT will surely profit from this brain child.
But according to him, since the PLDT Telpad is still on it’s baby phase, it needs a lot of improvement to name a few the issue on the touch screen sensitivity wherein the Telpad touch screen isn’t as sensitive as other touchscreen devices, another point is the size and weight of the unit could be lighter, and so on.

Mr. RJ Ledesma, a lifestyle columnist and the Editor-in-chief of UNO Magazine, stated that he can’t wait to avail several units that he and his family can use. He can see endless possibilities on his usage of PLDT Telpad.

I am a PLDT myDsl existing subscriber and if all’s well by next year, I will get my hands on my very own PLDT Telpad. With my line of work, Telpad will prove to be very helpful and handy. If I finally own one, I’ll tell you more about it. But over all, PLDT’s new brain child sounds very promising and very interesting.

So, when are you calling 171 to get your own PLDT Telpad?
