The EMC Storage Administrator Certification (EMCSA) track contains eight specialty tracks that you can choose from. Many of these tracks allow you to choose between associate, specialist, or expert level certifications. The exams required for these certifications will test your ability to participate in the storage decision making processes. Exam preparation can be obtained through EMC or ExamTrace.com.

 

The Backup Recovery – Avamar specialty and the Backup Recovery – NetWorker specialty requires passing one of the following three exams for the associate level certification: E10-001 ISM v2 exam, E20-001 ISM exam, or E20-005 Backup Recovery exam. Specialist level certifications can be obtained through passing either the the E20-598 Backup Recovery – Avamar Specialist exam or the E20-597 Backup Recovery – NetWorker Specialist exam.

 

For the remaining six certifications, passing the E10-001 ISM v2 exam or E20-001 ISM exam is required in order to earn the associate level. Three of the specialties allow you to earn an expert level certification. These include CLARiiON Solutions, Symmetrix Solutions, and VNX Solutions. Expert level certification requires taking one of the following exams: E20-822 CLARiiON Solutions Expert Exam, E20-814 Symmetrix Solutions Expert, and E20-888 VNX Solutions Expert Exam for Storage Administrators.

 

The remaining specialty tracks are comprised of Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Network (SAN), and Storage Management – ControlCenter and do not offer an expert level of certification. Earning the specialist level of certification requires passing one of the following exams: E20-538 Network Attached Storage (NAS) Specialist Exam, E20-532 Storage Area Network (SAN) Specialist Exam, or E20-582 Storage Management – ControlCenter Specialist Exam for Storage Administrators.
