When I was still pregnant, one of the earliest bonding moment with my daughter is to listen to all sorts of music, from classical to modern songs. I remember her responding to songs she particularly like at the time. At 4 years and 11 months, she’s into singing and dancing — a lot. She likes to create and play her own musical instruments such as pretend Piccolos at WWBW. She also memorize song lyrics by singing it over and over and over and over and over (oh you get it!).

I remember when she was about 2 years old where she would make up her own lyrics and sing for us. I foster her love for music through exposing her to variety of songs and of course enrolling her to a fun music class. She might not have the voice to gain a spot on American Idol but maybe she’s a lyricist or a music producer one day. 🙂

Soon she’ll also join voice lessons and musical plays from the Cayabyab school of Music. That is if she’s still into it because recently she wanted to join Teakwondo class or Gymnastic class which are both offered at school as an extra curricular activity.

I really don’t have any problems with my kid being indecisive with these things. In fact, I want her to experience all until she finds her place. The sport or activity she loves the best.

How about you, how do you foster your child’s love for music?
