The rainy season is upon us and with it comes the increased incidence of Dengue too (because we’re a tropical country, Dengue outbreaks are year round). I am so scared of Dengue because I know we can prevent it from ever happening to our family. So aside from cleaning our house especially our balconies, I convinced the husband to drive to Silang, Cavite for a trip to the Ilog Maria Honeybee Farm. It was indeed worth it.
I first got hold of Ilog Maria Sting-less Citronella product because of my mother-in-law. She gave Peaches one and we have been using it since then. Well, actually for some days that my MIL forgets to get us one, I use different brands but I still want Ilog Maria’s because:
1. It’s a local brand, giving jobs to several families in Silang.
2. It’s from a fellow Mompreneur!
3. It really works and it smells great, unlike other brands that are just too strong yet it wears off fast.
Where is Ilog Maria Honeybee Farm located?
They’re located in Silang, Cavite a few kilometers away from Tagaytay’s rotunda if you took the Sta.Rosa-Tagaytay road.
There’s an Ilog Maria sign that points to a narrow street, make sure it’s the ENTRANCE because the other street is just for EXITING vehicles. We asked the Manongs on the street and they were really friendly and pointed us to the right direction. Don’t be surprised if you feel like the street is a bit creepy-ish. It looks like this:

It’s a welcome sight when we got to Ilog Maria. For someone who’s surrounded by city lights and tall buildings day in and day out, it was refreshing to be with chickens and goats… and CATS too!
